Virtual Tour FINISHERS PAGE

CONGRATULATIONS to those who explored and FINISHED the TREASURE HUNT.

If you are one of them, then a big HIGH FIVE or KUDOS or CONGRATS or WAY-TO-GO or whatever your preference is for an online pat on the back, hand shake, thumbs up, group hug, or other positive-vibes transaction for your time, effort, interest, and navigational clicking skills.

As of this update, only ONE person has solved the treasure hunt. I hope someday there are many more, but one is better than zero, so...

Shout out to MEG GOWER for finishing the Salvation Mountain Treasure Hunt!

Meg Gower found the Salvation Mountain Virtual Tour spontaneously (that is, I don't know her otherwise) and on September 13, 2013, wrote to the email address provided to let me know she had completed the hunt and enjoyed having "virtual lunch" with Leonard Knight.

Meg also let me know, sadly, of Leonard Knight's medical problems. I found this LA Times article from February 2014 indicating that Leonard Knight died at age 82. Rest in peace, Leonard Knight! Your life's work impressed and inspired a great many people from near and far, including myself.

Here's the letter from Meg Gower:

"Enjoyed your virtual tour and treasure hunt at Salvation Mountain. Loved having virtual lunch with Leonard Knight too! I was in Niland about 5 years ago, probably around the time you took your photos, and got to meet him in person and get a personal tour - DVD, puzzle and postcards too of course! I just learned that he had to move into a retirement center and lost his right leg due to some medical problems. Too bad. I hope that mountain gets taken care of by more that appreciate the art and the sentiment. Thanks for the fun and memories!"
